What to expect from Adventures at the Yangout
I have been a writer my entire life. When my kids were born, I posted almost every day about my parenting adventures. My oldest was an easy baby, and I found myself somewhat bored on maternity leave. Writing was an outlet.
Fast forward a few years, and that blog no longer exists, but I never stopped writing. However, I stopped writing about my kids and focused on other types of writing.
This publication is a revitalization of my first foray into writing online: documenting adventures with my kids. Our first project is teaching my older kids (two teenagers) to cook and grocery shop.
Why “The Yangout”?
We have a pond in our backyard (courtesy of the previous owners). Many years ago, it was dubbed “The Yangout” by a friend of mine.
We live in a suburb of Chicago, but you wouldn’t be able to tell from our view.
